Woman Shot in Gurugram Club After Refusing Marriage

A married woman shot in a Gurugram club is currently undergoing medical treatment after sustaining a serious gunshot injury, according to police officials. The incident occurred late on the night of December 19–20 and has raised concerns about violence against women and emergency medical response in nightlife settings.
The 25-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital immediately after the shooting. Doctors confirmed that she was not in a condition to state at the time of admission due to the severity of her injury.

What Happened at the Gurugram Club?

According to the police investigation, the woman, identified as Kalpana, works at a club in Gurugram and lives in Najafgarh with her husband. Around 1 am, she reportedly called her husband and informed him that she had been shot by a man she knew and was being taken to the hospital.
Soon after, the hospital alerted the police about a female patient with a gunshot wound. A police team reached the facility, collected the medico-legal report, and began preliminary inquiries.

Medical Condition and Emergency Care

Doctors confirmed that the bullet struck the woman in the abdomen. Due to pain, blood loss, and trauma, she was declared medically unfit to state at that time. Such abdominal gunshot injuries are considered medically serious and often require close monitoring, imaging tests, and sometimes surgical intervention.
Rapid hospital transfer and timely trauma care are critical in improving survival and recovery outcomes in firearm-related injuries.

Prior Dispute and Alleged Motive

In his written complaint, the victim’s husband told police that the accused had visited their home about a month earlier, where a confrontation had occurred. Following this, the accused allegedly held a grudge.
Police later learned that the accused and the woman had known each other for several months. He had reportedly been pressuring her to marry him. Despite repeated refusals, he continued to pursue her.

Arrest of the Accused

A joint police team arrested two men from Baraut in Uttar Pradesh on December 25. The accused were identified as Tushar alias Jonty (25) and Shubham alias Johnny (24), both residents of Sangam Vihar, Delhi.
During questioning, police stated that Tushar admitted to going to the club with his associate on the night of the incident. After the woman again refused his marriage proposal, he allegedly fired a pistol at her with the intent to kill before fleeing the scene.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Process

The accused have been formally arrested under relevant sections of the law and will be produced before a court for police custody remand. Investigators are continuing to examine the weapon used, the sequence of events, and any supporting evidence.

Health and Safety Perspective

Cases involving a married woman shot in a Gurugram club highlight not only criminal accountability but also the importance of workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and post-trauma medical care. Survivors of gun violence often require long-term physical and psychological support, even after initial recovery.
Healthcare professionals stress that early intervention, trauma counselling, and follow-up care are essential components of recovery in such incidents.

Conclusion

This case of a married woman shot in a Gurugram club underscores the serious health risks linked to interpersonal violence and the critical role of swift medical response. As the investigation continues, authorities and healthcare providers alike are focused on justice, recovery, and prevention.
