Ajmer Mother Pushes Toddler Into Lake, CCTV Exposes Truth

A tragic case has emerged from Rajasthan, where an Ajmer woman threw her daughter into a lake, leading to the child’s death. Police revealed that the accused, identified as Anjali alias Priya Singh, was living in a live-in relationship and allegedly wanted to get rid of her 3-year-old daughter, whom she had with her estranged husband.

How the Incident Came to Light

The case was uncovered late Tuesday night when Ajmer police noticed the woman acting suspiciously near the Bajrang Garh crossing, close to Ana Sagar lake. Initially, she attempted to mislead authorities by claiming her child was missing. However, when police reviewed CCTV footage from the area, inconsistencies in her statements came to light.

CCTV Footage Reveals the Truth

Investigators found that Anjali had been seen with her daughter between 10 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. The footage later showed her at the Ana Sagar Chowpatty area, a section of the lakefront where safety railings are absent. According to officials, the woman first placed the toddler on a bench to sleep before allegedly pushing her into the water.

Confession During Questioning

Following intensive questioning, Anjali confessed to the crime. After the incident, she reportedly called her partner, Aklesh Gupta, to the spot. Both are originally from Uttar Pradesh. The child’s body was later recovered from the lake.

Background and Family Details

Anjali had left her husband in Varanasi some time ago and moved to Ajmer with her partner. Meanwhile, her husband had already filed a missing person report in Varanasi regarding his wife and daughter. Authorities believe that Anjali’s primary motive was her wish to “get rid” of her child, who came from her earlier marriage.

When Daily Showers Are Truly Necessary

In certain situations, such as after intense exercise, heavy sweating, or working in dusty or polluted environments, a daily shower may still be the healthiest choice. In these cases, focusing on gentle cleansing and moisturising is key to reducing the risk of long-term damage.

Mental Health and Social Concerns

Cases like this raise urgent concerns about maternal mental health, family conflict, and the social pressures faced by women in strained relationships. While the legal process will determine accountability, experts highlight the importance of timely mental health screening, counselling, and social support systems to prevent such extreme outcomes.

Conclusion

The incident of the Ajmer woman throwing her daughter into the lake underscores the tragic consequences of unresolved personal conflicts, lack of support, and unaddressed emotional distress. It serves as a stark reminder of the need for stronger community awareness, early mental health intervention, and protective mechanisms for vulnerable children.
