5 Arrested in Kozhikode Drug Bust; Heroin, MDMA Seized

Five Arrested in Narcotics Case

In a significant drug bust, the Kozhikode police arrested five individuals, including a woman, for allegedly possessing and selling narcotics. The arrests were made on Monday, December 9, 2024, following a raid at a residential area in Kozhikode, Kerala. The accused are suspected of being involved in the local drug trade, targeting students and young people in the area.

Drugs, Vehicles, and Mobile Phone Seized in Police Raid Based on Tip-Off

The police, acting on a tip-off from an anonymous source, seized a large quantity of drugs during the raid. The confiscated items included 100 grams of heroin, 50 grams of MDMA, and 200 grams of ganja. Additionally, a car, a two-wheeler, and a mobile phone were seized from the accused.

Suspected Links to International Drug Cartels

The police suspect that the arrested individuals may have connections to international drug cartels. Authorities are investigating further to uncover any links between the accused and other drug peddlers in the area.

Accused Remanded in Judicial Custody

The five arrested individuals have been identified as Anees (35), Shameer (32), Niyas (29), Faisal (28), and Sajitha (30). The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
