A 50-year-old recovers from severe artery blockage through Ayurveda, showcasing alternative treatments for heart health. Read about his journey to wellness.
A 50-year-old taxi driver, Avdhesh Kumar, experienced a heart attack in November 2022 and was diagnosed with 95% blockage in his left anterior descending artery (LAD), has achieved full recovery following nearly four months of treatment at the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA).
Kumar’s financial difficulties stopped him from getting the suggested stent operation. He then sought therapy at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). In October 2023, an angiography revealed remarkable improvement. In October 2023, an angiography showed significant improvement. The LAD displayed 85-90% occlusion, and the RCA showed 5-10% occlusion, with successful treatment involving Virechana, a Panchkarma therapy, along with three months of oral medication.
Dr. Divya Kajaria, an assistant professor at AIIA, reported that after 15 days of hospitalization and three months of medication, Kumar’s condition improved remarkably. Currently, he exhibits 0-5% occlusion in both the LAD and RCA, indicating a return to normalcy.
Upon his initial visit to the hospital, Kumar faced difficulty breathing, limited mobility, and occasional chest pain. Although physicians first suggested a stent treatment for the weak left artery, his financial situation precluded him from pursuing it. Blockages in the LAD, sometimes known as the “widow maker,” can cause severe heart attacks because of their critical function in providing blood to the left side of the heart. While angioplasty and stenting are common procedures, Kumar’s success with Ayurvedic remedies highlights the value of alternate techniques in treating cardiac diseases.
A widowmaker heart attack refers to a heart attack where the largest heart artery, the left anterior descending (LAD) artery, is fully blocked. This artery is responsible for supplying oxygen-rich blood to the heart’s left ventricle.
