MBBS Student from Rajasthan Found Dead in Pune Hostel

Tragic Discovery in Pune Hostel

A woman, aged 21 years, from Rajasthan, was pursuing second year MBBS studies at the B J Medical College, Pune, which is run by the Government. She was living in the hostel with two other lady students.

When she did not return to her room till late Tuesday evening, her roommates, anticipating the worst, went to file a missing persons complaint at the police station. In the interim, another resident found the woman hanging in another room of the hostel and immediately informed the hostel authorities and the police.

Investigation Findings

The initial investigation by the Bundgarden police station revealed that the deceased had been undergoing psychiatric treatment since her school days. She had left behind a suicide note where she did not blame anyone else for her death. It also stated that she was undergoing psychiatric treatment and that she wanted to pursue further studies.

Police Action and Family Notification

The police are continuing further investigations in the matter, and the parents of the deceased have been informed of her tragic and untimely death.
