Rajkot Hospital CCTV Hacked: Pregnant Women’s Footage Leaked
Cyber Crime Branch Cracks Down on Maternity Video Leak
The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has arrested two individuals from Maharashtra for allegedly hacking into a Rajkot hospital’s CCTV system and leaking sensitive videos of pregnant women undergoing medical check-ups. The footage was circulated via a Telegram channel, triggering a high-profile investigation.
Hackers Exploited Hospital’s IP to Leak Footage
Investigators revealed that the cybercriminals accessed the CCTV system of Payal Maternity Home in Rajkot through its IP address. The hospital, established in 1998, has performed over 37,000 deliveries and 21,000 surgeries.
The arrested suspects are set to be brought to Gujarat for further questioning. Authorities disclosed that these individuals were previously involved in sharing explicit videos using similar tactics.
Over 90 Videos Found in Telegram Channel Linked to Accused
So far, at least six disturbing videos have surfaced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). A Telegram channel, allegedly linked to the accused, claims to have over 90 such videos. The Ahmedabad Cyber Cell is collaborating with Rajkot police to trace the origins of these leaks and dismantle the distribution network.
Nationwide Racket Suspected in Maternity Video Scandal
The ongoing probe suggests that an organized cybercrime gang, spanning at least three states, is behind the scandal. Investigators believe this network has been profiting from illegally uploading medical examination videos of maternity patients on Telegram and YouTube.
Authorities Tighten Grip on Cyber Criminals
After a formal complaint, Ahmedabad Cyber Crime officials raided Payal Maternity Home, recording statements from doctors and staff. Authorities suspect the illicit trade of childbirth-related videos extends across multiple states.
With the investigation intensifying, law enforcement is determined to track down the masterminds behind this cybercrime operation and put an end to their activities.
