OYO Nightmare: Woman Expelled, Forced to Sleep on Platform

A woman’s distressing experience with OYO has sparked widespread outrage on social media. She was forced to spend the night on a railway platform after being evicted from her pre-booked hotel room. Many users are now calling OYO a “scam” and urging others to boycott the platform.

Customer Claims She Was Evicted After Check-In

The controversy began when an Instagram user, ‘loverseraaa,’ shared a video from a railway station platform. She explained that she had booked an OYO hotel for the night since her home was far away, and she had an early morning train to catch.
According to her, after checking in successfully, the hotel staff knocked on her door an hour later and informed her that the room could not be given at the listed price. The hotel manager claimed that the price displayed on OYO was incorrect and demanded additional payment.

OYO's Customer Support Fails to Resolve the Issue

When the woman refused to pay extra, she contacted OYO’s customer care for help. However, instead of resolving the matter, OYO relocated her to another hotel, which she described as “very shady” with no staff present at the reception. When she called customer care again, they said the hotel owner was unresponsive and offered to shift her to another property—this time 7 km away from her current location.
Since she had a train to catch and OYO had no available hotels near the railway station, she requested a refund. However, she was directed to another department that handles refunds, adding to her frustration.
With no suitable options left and time running out, she had no choice but to spend the night at the railway station.

Social Media Users React with Outrage

The woman’s ordeal quickly went viral, triggering an outpouring of criticism against OYO. Many users shared similar experiences, accusing the company of misleading customers.
One user commented, “OYO has lost all credibility. Don’t trust them, I’m speaking from experience.”
Another suggested, “It’s better to switch to other platforms that provide reliable customer service and list only genuine hotels.”
Several users called for OYO to be banned, stating that Indian customers deserve better services.

Conclusion

This incident has once again raised concerns about the reliability of OYO’s services. Many customers feel that the platform does not ensure accountability for its listed hotels, leading to stressful situations like this one. As complaints continue to surface, it remains to be seen how OYO will address these growing concerns.
