‘My Wife is Killing Me’ – Man’s Last Words Before Suicide
A 40-year-old man from Chamundeshwari Nagar, Karnataka, was found dead at his home after his family returned from church. According to the police, the man allegedly took his own life due to harassment from his wife.
Troubled Marriage and Divorce Filing
As per the initial investigation, the couple married for two years but started living separately just three months after their wedding due to frequent conflicts. The man’s wife had reportedly filed for divorce and demanded ₹20 lakh as alimony.
Family’s Discovery and Suicide Note
The victim’s brother shared that their family had gone to church on Sunday morning. Upon returning home in the afternoon, they found the man hanging from the ceiling.
The brother also disclosed the contents of a suicide note left behind by the deceased. In the note, he wrote, “Daddy, I’m sorry. My wife Pinky is killing me. She wants me dead… I am dying because of my wife’s torture.”
Allegations of Physical Abuse and Job Loss
The family revealed that the man had been struggling since he lost his job three months ago, which further strained his marriage. Additionally, they claimed that he had been physically assaulted by his wife’s elder brother, for which a police complaint had been filed earlier.
Family Seeks Justice
The victim’s brother demanded justice, urging authorities to take strict action. “We want justice for my brother. That woman should be arrested. No one should suffer the way my brother did,“ he stated.
Police Investigation Underway
Following a complaint from the victim’s brother, the police have registered a case under Section 108 (abetment to suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the man’s wife. The investigation is ongoing.
Conclusion
This incident comes months after a 34-year-old techie in Bengaluru died by suicide on December 9, 2024. In his case, he reportedly left a message blaming his wife and in-laws for his decision. The police registered an FIR against his wife and her family under Sections 108 (abetment to suicide) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Authorities continue to probe both cases, emphasizing the need for a deeper investigation into allegations of domestic harassment and mental distress.
