Groom’s ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ Dance Goes Viral for Wrong Reason

A wedding in New Delhi took an unexpected turn when the groom, encouraged by his friends, danced to the popular Bollywood song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai. While some guests enjoyed the moment, the bride’s father found it highly inappropriate and decided to call off the wedding on the spot.

Groom’s Dance Sparks Controversy

According to reports, the groom arrived at the wedding venue with his procession. As the music played, his friends urged him to dance, and he enthusiastically joined in. However, this act did not sit well with the bride’s father, who considered it disrespectful.
Outraged, he immediately halted the ceremony, declaring that such behavior went against his family’s values. Despite the groom’s attempts to explain that it was all in good fun, the father remained firm in his decision.

Bride's Family Stands Firm

The bride was left in tears as her father insisted on canceling the wedding. The family later stated that the father remained angry long after the event and even prohibited any future contact between the bride and the groom’s family.

Social Media Reactions

After the incident went viral, social media users on platform X reacted with humor and criticism. A widely circulated newspaper clipping read, “Groom dances on ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ to entertain guests. Bride’s father cancels the wedding.”

Some users supported the father’s decision, with one comment saying, “Good call by the father-in-law. Otherwise, he would have had to see this dance daily.” Another user joked, “This wasn’t an arranged marriage; it was an elimination round!”

Similar Incident in Uttar Pradesh

This is not the first time a wedding has been called off over unexpected reasons. In December last year, a groom in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district canceled his wedding due to a delay in serving food. He later married his cousin on the same day. The bride’s family filed a police complaint, citing financial losses of Rs 7 lakh due to wedding

Conclusion

This incident highlights how cultural expectations and family values play a crucial role in Indian weddings. While some may view the groom’s dance as light-hearted entertainment, others see it as inappropriate for such a significant occasion. The debate continues online, with opinions divided on whether the father’s reaction was justified.
