Funeral Turns Nightmare as Bees Sting 50 in Jaipur

A funeral in Jaipur took a tragic turn when a swarm of bees attacked mourners, injuring around 50 people. The incident occurred on Monday in Peeli ki Talai, a locality in the Amber area.

Bees Disturbed by Cremation Fire

As the funeral pyre was lit, the heat and smoke disturbed a nearby beehive, causing the bees to swarm aggressively. The mourners, caught off guard, were unable to escape in time and suffered multiple stings.

Emergency Medical Assistance

Authorities quickly responded to the situation, transporting the injured to a nearby first aid center. While most victims received minor injuries and were treated on-site, some were referred to Sawai Mansingh Hospital in Jaipur for further care. Fortunately, no critical cases were reported, and all victims have been discharged.

Community Shocked but Recovering

The unexpected event has unsettled the local community. Authorities are now assessing safety measures to prevent such occurrences in the future, particularly in areas where human activities may disturb natural habitats.

What to Do During a Bee Attack

  • Stay calm and move away – Avoid swatting at bees, as this can provoke them further.
  • Cover your face – Use a cloth or hands to protect your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Find shelter – Move indoors or to a shaded area as quickly as possible.
  • Do not jump into water – Bees may wait above the surface.
  • Seek medical help – If stung multiple times or experiencing an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder to be cautious while performing rituals near natural habitats. Authorities urge the public to take necessary precautions to avoid disturbing wildlife.
