16 Stitches for Wife After Husband's Violent Lip Bite
In a shocking case of domestic violence in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, a woman sustained severe injuries after her husband allegedly bit her lip during a fight. The incident occurred on Friday evening in the village of Nagla Bhuchan, leaving the woman requiring 16 stitches at the district hospital.
Domestic Dispute Turns Violent
The police said the altercation began when Vishnu, the husband, returned home and started an argument with his wife over domestic issues. Despite her attempts to calm him down, he reportedly became violent and started beating her.
As the situation escalated, he allegedly bit her lip, causing heavy bleeding. The woman’s sister, who was present at the time, tried to intervene but was also reportedly assaulted.
Family Members Accused of Harassment
Following the incident, the woman approached the police with a written complaint, as she was unable to explain her ordeal verbally. In her statement, she accused not only her husband but also her mother-in-law and brother-in-law of harassment and physical abuse.
According to the complaint, when she informed her in-laws about her husband’s violent act, they allegedly abused and beat her instead of providing support.
Support from Her Family
The woman’s father took her to the police station to file a formal complaint. She was later treated at the district hospital, where she received 16 stitches on her injured lip.
Police Actions Underway
Magorra Station House Officer (SHO) Mohit Tomar confirmed that the accused individuals, including the husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, fled their home after the incident. The police are conducting raids to locate and arrest them.
The SHO added that the initial investigation suggests the fight stemmed from ongoing domestic issues within the family.
Conclusion
This incident highlights the need for greater awareness and action against domestic violence. Victims are encouraged to seek immediate help from local authorities and support organizations to ensure their safety and well-being.
By addressing such cases promptly and holding perpetrators accountable, society can take meaningful steps toward curbing domestic abuse.
