Facebook Friend Turns Killer: Shocking Haryana Murder Case

The Haryana police have solved the murder case of 22-year-old Congress worker Himani Narwal. The accused, Sachin alias Dhillu, a 30-year-old man from Khairpur village in Jhajjar, was arrested for the crime.
Sachin, who is married and a father of two, had developed a friendship with Himani on Facebook about a year and a half ago. Over the past seven months, he had been frequently visiting her home in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak. The victim’s mother and brother were residing in Delhi at the time.

Murder and Disposal of the Body

According to the police, the murder took place on February 28, following a heated argument between the two. On the previous night, February 27, around 9 PM, Sachin had visited Himani’s house and stayed overnight. The next day, an argument broke out over an undisclosed matter, which escalated quickly.
In a fit of rage, Sachin tied Himani’s hands with her dupatta and strangled her using a mobile phone charger cable. He then placed her body in a suitcase along with a quilt that had bloodstains. To cover up his crime, he stole her mobile phone, laptop, and jewellery and moved them to his mobile repair shop in Kanonda village, Jhajjar.

Accused’s Attempt to Conceal Evidence

After committing the murder, Sachin used Himani’s scooter to transport the stolen items. Later, he returned to her house to ensure no evidence was left behind.
On the night of February 28, he took an auto-rickshaw from Vijay Nagar, Rohtak, to the Delhi bypass. From there, he boarded a bus to Sampla, about 26 km away. Upon reaching, he walked approximately 80 meters and dumped the suitcase containing Himani’s body in the bushes near the Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The police discovered Himani’s body on March 1 and launched an investigation. With the help of forensic evidence and digital footprints, they traced the crime back to Sachin. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the murder. Law enforcement officials recovered the stolen belongings from his shop.
Sachin has been remanded to police custody for three days as further investigations continue.

Conclusion

This tragic incident highlights the potential dangers of social media connections. Authorities urge the public to remain cautious while forming online relationships. The swift police action in solving this case demonstrates the importance of digital evidence in modern criminal investigations.
