Introduction
A tragic incident unfolded as 14-year-old Aditya Sharma, a resident of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, passed away after doctors discovered a shocking 65 metal items lodged in his stomach. His condition, which initially presented as breathing issues and abdominal pain, led his family on a desperate journey across multiple cities seeking medical intervention. Here is a breakdown of the events that led to this devastating loss.
Initial Symptoms and Hospital Visits
On October 13, Aditya first experienced discomfort and shortness of breath, which prompted his father, Sanchet Sharma—a medical representative—to take him to a hospital in Agra. Despite multiple consultations, his condition remained unclear, and his symptoms persisted.
Medical Investigations Across Four Cities
In the following weeks, Aditya’s family sought medical help in four different cities, hoping for an accurate diagnosis. In Jaipur, an initial examination ruled out any immediate risk, so the family returned to Uttar Pradesh. However, on October 21, Aditya’s symptoms returned, leading his family to seek help in Aligarh, where doctors identified a nasal blockage that they were able to remove. Shortly after, Aditya began experiencing severe abdominal pain.
Discovery of Metal Objects in Stomach
On October 26, an ultrasound in Aligarh revealed the presence of metal objects within Aditya’s abdomen. He was urgently referred to a hospital in Noida, where additional tests revealed a total of 65 metal objects—including batteries, chains, razor blade fragments, and screws—inside his stomach.
Final Attempts to Save Aditya's Life
Aditya was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where doctors performed surgery to remove the metal objects. Tragically, despite their efforts, Aditya succumbed to an intestinal infection on October 28. This unexpected series of events has left his family and the community in mourning.
A Heartbreaking Loss
Aditya’s father recalls that his son had never shown signs of any mental or physical health issues before this incident. His passing has raised concerns and questions about the reasons behind this incident, and his father, who resides in Ratnagarbha Colony, Hathras, is left with the painful memories of his only son.
