Sunjay Kapur Dies Suddenly at 53, What Happened?

Sunjay Kapur, the ex-husband of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, passed away at the age of 53 after suffering a heart attack. It happened while he was playing polo in England. His death has come as a shock to his family, friends, and many well-wishers.

Heart Attacks at Middle Age, What We Should Know

Heart attacks, also called myocardial infarctions, happen when a blockage cuts off blood flow to a section of the heart muscle. This deprives the heart of oxygen, causing damage or even death of heart cells.

While heart attacks are more frequently associated with older people, they can also happen to individuals in their 40s or 50s especially if there are risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, stress, or a sedentary lifestyle.

Strenuous physical activity, like a game of polo, can sometimes act as a trigger for a heart attack in someone with underlying health issues.

Family and Personal Life

Sunjay Kapur was a well-known businessman and the head of the company Sona Comstar. He married actor Karisma Kapoor in 2003. But over time, their relationship had many problems, and they got divorced in 2016. They have two children a daughter named Samaira and a son named Kiaan.
Later, Sunjay married model Priya Sachdev, and they have a son together.

Support from Family and Friends

After the news broke, Karisma’s sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, rushed to be by her side and provide support. Close friends, including Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora, also came to pay their condolences.
Author Suhel Seth, a family friend, shared his shock and sadness over Sunjay’s death on social media. His last post was related to the Air India plane tragedy in Ahmedabad, reflecting his deep concern for the incident.

Conclusion

Sunjay Kapur’s untimely death serves as a reminder that a heart attack can strike at any age and without much warning. It’s a moment for us to reflect on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, stress management, and regular health check-ups. His family and friends are currently grieving their immense loss.
