Mumbai Shocker: Man Kills Infant Daughter in a Rage

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing his three-month-old daughter by violently throwing her onto the floor during a heated argument with his wife in Kurla. The accused, identified as Parvez Siddique, had been unemployed for the past six months and previously worked as an electrician with a contractor.

Incident Details

According to police reports, the victim’s mother, 26-year-old Saba Siddique, lived in the house with her husband, their three daughters—aged five years, two and a half years, and three months—along with her in-laws and three brothers-in-law. While Parvez was jobless, his brothers worked in pharmaceutical companies and financially supported the family.

How the Argument Turned Violent

The dispute started when Saba scolded and slapped her eldest daughter for refusing to eat. This angered Parvez, who then began physically assaulting his wife. Seeking safety, Saba moved to the living room with her infant daughter. However, Parvez followed, shouting insults at both his wife and his parents, who were also present. Overcome with rage, he suddenly snatched the baby from his wife’s arms and threw her onto the floor before storming out of the house.

Immediate Aftermath

Parvez’s mother rushed to pick up the critically injured baby and called her younger sons for help. They immediately took the child to Bhabha Hospital in Kurla, but doctors declared the baby dead upon arrival. The hospital authorities promptly informed the VB Nagar police station about the incident.

Police Action and Legal Charges

A police team arrived at the hospital, took Saba Siddique’s testimony, and filed a complaint against Parvez Siddique under Sections 103 (murder) and 115 (voluntarily inflicting harm) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police quickly arrested Parvez.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Kshirsagar of VB Nagar police station confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation is underway. The case highlights the severe consequences of domestic violence and the tragic impact it can have on innocent lives.
