Her Skin Got Destroyed After 22 Years of Makeup Use
A 37-year-old woman from Jilin Province in northeastern China has stunned the internet by revealing the extreme skin damage she suffered after wearing makeup continuously for 22 years without ever properly removing it. Known online as Niuyoumian, her story, shared in a video earlier this month, quickly gained widespread attention, raising serious concerns about long-term cosmetic use and skincare negligence.
Years of Cosmetic Use Without a Break
Niuyoumian began applying make-up at the age of 15. However, instead of following a healthy skincare routine that includes cleansing and removal, she kept makeup on her face day and night for over two decades. Over time, this led to severe allergic reactions and chronic skin problems.
Her face, as shown in the video, appeared swollen, red, and covered with painful rashes symptoms commonly linked to a condition called “hormone face” or cosmetic-induced dermatitis.
The Early Signs: Ignored and Misunderstood
Her skin troubles started even earlier, at the age of 14, when she reacted badly to an acne cream. But instead of seeking proper medical advice, she tried to cover the problem with cheap foundation products, due to limited financial resources. These low-quality cosmetics likely contained harsh chemicals that worsened her condition.
Moreover, her work in the beauty and hair industry constantly exposed her to strong chemical agents, adding further stress to her already sensitive skin.
Invasive Treatments Made It Worse
Niuyoumian began receiving facial injections in 2011. Unfortunately, these treatments did not help. On the contrary, they aggravated her symptoms and led to more visible damage. By the time she was in her late 20s, her skin condition had become increasingly difficult to manage.
The Underlying Skin Conditions
She now lives with multiple skin disorders, including Rosacea and Demodex mite infestations. These issues cause intense itching, swelling, and irritation. “At its worst,” she said, “it feels like thousands of tiny ants crawling on my face.”
Skincare Mistakes and Regrets
One of her biggest regrets is the habit of frequently switching products without giving any of them enough time to work. “I never committed to truly healing my skin,” she admitted. “I thought ointments could fix any redness or itch, but after turning 25, things changed drastically.”
She emphasized that her impatience and over-reliance on quick fixes contributed to the downward spiral of her skin health.
A Message of Warning and Hope
In her heartfelt message, Niuyoumian urged others to avoid repeating her mistakes. “Don’t rush into every trending product. Just because it works for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for you,” she said.
She also cautioned against products that promise instant results. These often mask symptoms rather than truly heal the skin. “If something works right away, it’s likely just suppressing the problem,” she warned.
Conclusion
Niuyoumian’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of proper skincare, especially when using cosmetics long-term. Consistent cleansing, cautious product use, and seeking medical guidance when needed are key to maintaining healthy skin.
Her experience serves as a wake-up call, not just for beauty enthusiasts, but for anyone who underestimates the impact of poor skincare habits over time.
